FAQs
Classes
-
Absolutely not! We love welcoming new gymnasts and have designed our classes to be a perfect fit for them. Our recreational classes are grouped by age and skill level, so your child will be in a class with other students who are also just starting out. Our dedicated coaches are experts at working with beginners, focusing on foundational skills in a positive and encouraging atmosphere. Every child learns at their own pace, and our priority is to ensure they feel confident, safe, and excited to be in the gym. We can't wait to help your child begin their gymnastics journey!
-
Comfortable, athletic clothing that allows for a full range of motion is best. Leotards or athletic shorts and a t-shirt are great options. For safety, no shoes or socks are worn in the gym.
For your child’s safety, please have them remove all jewelry before class. Small stud earrings are acceptable, but any other jewelry must be left at home to prevent it from getting caught on equipment.
-
To ensure your child has a great and safe experience in the gym, we ask that they come prepared with a few key items.
First, please pack a water bottle to help them stay hydrated during class.
Second, if your child has hair long enough to get in their face, please have it secured back in a ponytail or braid using a hair tie. This is important for safety to prevent hair from getting caught on equipment or obstructing their vision while performing skills.
-
We have a designated viewing area where parents are welcome to watch classes. To ensure the safety and focus of our athletes, we ask that you remain in this area and avoid interacting with them during class.
-
This is a very common question, and it's a great one! Unlike some other sports, progression in gymnastics is not always a straight line. Every skill is built upon a strong foundation of strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Before a child can safely learn a new, more advanced skill, they must first master all of the foundational elements required for it. Rushing the process can lead to poor technique and injury.
Every child develops these skills at their own pace. Our coaches are dedicated to ensuring that your child is building a safe, strong, and confident foundation, which is the most important part of their long-term growth. If you have any specific questions about your child's progress, we encourage you to speak with their coach after class.
Pre School

In our "Parent and Me" class, the parent is the star! This class is specifically designed for you to actively participate with your child on the gym floor. Our coaches will guide you and teach you how to safely lead your child through various fun and engaging circuits. Your participation is essential for your child's learning, comfort, and safety as they build fundamental gymnastics skills. It's a wonderful opportunity for you to play, learn, and grow together!

This is a great question that we hear often! For our youngest gymnasts, "real" gymnastics is all about play with a purpose. Our classes are carefully designed to be the foundational building blocks for future success.
We focus on developing essential skills like body awareness, coordination, balance, and listening skills. Your child will learn to follow instructions, take turns, and perform basic movements like forward rolls, balancing, and safe landings—all in a fun and engaging environment. While they may not be doing back handsprings just yet, these are the critical first steps that make those bigger skills possible down the road. Our goal is to build a safe, confident, and enthusiastic gymnast from the very beginning!
-
Our open gym sessions are a time for unstructured, supervised free play. A coach is always present on the gym floor, but their primary role is to ensure a safe environment and provide assistance only if needed. This is not a structured class, but a time for your child to explore the equipment and practice their skills at their own pace in a fun, safe setting.
-
Yes, a parent or guardian is required to remain in the facility for the duration of the open gym session.
For children ages 3 and up, you are not required to be on the gym floor; you can watch from our designated viewing area.
However, for children ages 2 and under, a parent or guardian must be on the floor with them at all times.
Enrollment
-
We have rolling admissions, so you can absolutely enroll at any time throughout the season as long as there is an opening in the class you want! When you register for a class after the start of the month, your tuition will be automatically prorated. This means you only pay for the classes remaining in that month, making it easy for your child to join whenever they are ready.
-
You may unenroll at any time, but we require a 30-day written notice before the 1st of the next month to avoid being charged.
-
Your monthly tuition holds your child's spot in class, regardless of attendance. We do not offer prorated tuition, credits, or refunds for any absences, including those due to illness, vacations, holidays, or snow days.
To help accommodate for absences, we offer one make-up class per month, subject to the following guidelines:
Make-up classes must be scheduled in advance with our front desk.
Make-up classes are not guaranteed and are subject to availability in an age-appropriate class.
If you need to reschedule a make-up class, we require 48 hours' notice.
Failing to provide 48 hours' notice or not attending a scheduled make-up will result in forfeiting that opportunity for the month.
-
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. In the event of severe weather, we typically follow the lead of the local school district's closures. All class cancellations will be announced on our website, social media pages, and via email. If a class is canceled due to weather, we do not offer refunds or credits, but your child will be eligible for a make-up class.
Payments and Fees
-
We require a credit card to be kept on file for our automatic monthly billing system. Your card will be charged for tuition on the first of each month.
-
Yes! We are happy to offer a 10% discount for families with multiple children enrolled in our programs. We also offer a 10% discount for children enrolled in multiple classes. Please ask the front desk for details on our sibling discounts.
-
Tuition is charged on the first of each month. A late fee of $10 will be applied to your account if payment is not received by the 7th of the month. If payment is not received by the 14th, your child will be unenrolled and lose their spot. Please ensure your card on file is up to date to avoid any late fees.
Competitive Team
-
USA Gymnastics (USAG) is the national governing body for gymnastics in the United States. A USAG competitive team follows the rules and structure set by this organization, which provides a clear path for gymnasts to advance through different levels of competition.
The two main programs are:
The Development Program: A rigorous track with compulsory (set routines) and optional (custom routines) levels designed for gymnasts aiming for the highest levels of the sport.
The Xcel Program: A more flexible option for gymnasts who want to compete with personalized routines and a less intense time commitment.
-
The commitment level for our USAG competitive team is significant and increases with the gymnast's level. It involves a substantial dedication of time, both for training and competitions, as well as a financial commitment.
Training Commitment
Gymnasts on the competitive team typically train multiple days a week, with sessions lasting several hours. For lower-level gymnasts, this might be 3-4 days a week, while advanced gymnasts can train 5 or more days a week. We expect gymnasts to attend all scheduled practices to ensure consistent skill development and team cohesion.
Competition Commitment
The competitive season generally runs from fall through late spring. During this time, gymnasts will participate in several competitions, which may include local, state, and regional meets. These events often take place on weekends and may require travel and a full-day commitment.
-
Gymnasts typically join our competitive team through one of two ways: an invitation from a coach or a formal evaluation.
Coach's Invitation
This is the most common path. Coaches continuously evaluate gymnasts in our recreational and pre-team classes for the necessary skills, attitude, and work ethic. If a coach believes a gymnast is ready for the higher commitment and challenges of the competitive team, they will personally invite them to join. This ensures that every gymnast brought onto the team is well-prepared and has the foundational skills needed to succeed.
Evaluation
We hold formal evaluations for the competitive team, usually once a year, to fill any open spots. These evaluations are open to both gymnasts already enrolled in our gym and those from outside. During an evaluation, gymnasts are assessed on a variety of factors, including:
Skill proficiency: Their mastery of fundamental gymnastics skills.
Physical readiness: Strength, flexibility, and overall athletic ability.
Coachability: Their ability to listen, learn, and apply feedback.
-
Joining the USAG competitive team comes with a financial commitment. These expenses are separate from our recreational class fees and are typically broken down into a few categories:
1. Monthly Tuition
This is the primary expense, covering the cost of training. Competitive gymnasts train for more hours per week than recreational athletes. The tuition rate is tiered, with higher levels training more and therefore having a higher monthly fee.
2. Competition Fees
Each competition a gymnast attends requires an entry fee that covers the cost of hosting the event, judging panels, and awards. The fee varies for each competition.
3. Team Apparel and Equipment
All competitive gymnasts are required to purchase a team leotard, warm-up jacket, backpack, and other designated apparel for competitions. The cost of these items varies but is a one-time expense for the season.
4. USA Gymnastics Membership
Every competitive gymnast must have an annual membership with USA Gymnastics. This fee is paid directly to USAG and is required for a gymnast to be eligible to compete in sanctioned events.
We are committed to being transparent about all costs. A detailed breakdown of all financial obligations will be provided to families at the start of each season.
